Senior School Art Exhibition at The Perse School (Singapore) Showcases Young Talent
Creativity took centre stage recently as The Perse School (Singapore) hosted its annual Senior School Art Exhibition, showcasing the imagination, technical skills, and artistic growth of students from Years 7 to 10.
Featuring a diverse collection of artworks created throughout the academic year, the exhibition reflected students’ exploration of themes including Pop Art, Cubism, Still Life, Personal Identity, and Collaborative Installation Art. Students were inspired by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Romero Britto, and this was reflected in their experiments with a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, and three-dimensional construction. Through these explorations, students developed their understanding of colour, line, shape, form, texture, value, and composition.
Among the highlights were Cubist self-portraits, Pop Art-inspired works based on meaningful personal objects, still life compositions, and a vibrant collaborative 3D installation promoting positivity through colour and symbolism. The exhibition also featured creations from the Art for Mindfulness ECA, where students explored creativity as a pathway to wellbeing and self-expression.
Art Teacher Maja Vidanovikj said, “Throughout the year, students have demonstrated dedication, creativity, resilience, and a willingness to take artistic risks. The exhibition provides an opportunity to celebrate not only their final outcomes but also the creative journeys, research, experimentation, and personal stories that have shaped each artwork.”
