Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme supports students in the early stages of English development, helping them build both written and spoken skills to reach their full potential. In our supportive classroom setting, students have ample opportunities to practise, learn, and engage with peers. This nurturing environment builds confidence and improves language proficiency within the Cambridge international curriculum.
ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE (EAL) SUPPORT
1. Intensive EAL Programme
Designed for students who require additional help to build foundational English skills. The intensive programme provides targeted support through small group sessions and personalized instruction. This programme focuses on speaking, listening, reading, and writing to quickly boost students' confidence in using English in academic and social settings.
2. Basic EAL Programme
Once students have developed foundational English skills, they move to the basic EAL programme. This programme provides continued support, helping students refine their language abilities while integrating more into mainstream classroom activities. In addition to this, they will attend dedicated EAL classes during other language class periods, providing them with targeted English language support while allowing them to stay integrated in the broader school curriculum.
Admission To The EAL Programme
Students undergo an initial placement assessment to identify their current proficiency level, and regular progress assessments to ensure they are on track to meet their language goals.
