About Teacher
Maria Sienna is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in Singapore and the Philippines, across both local and international school settings. She holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education (Major in English) Degree, a Diploma in Montessori Teaching, a Certificate in Educational Psychology and Special Education, a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification, and recently completed the Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning (CICTL) from Cambridge International Education (UK).
Prior to joining The Perse School (Singapore), Maria Sienna founded Playhouse Internationale, a Singapore-based enrichment centre that supports children through school readiness programmes, enrichment classes, and AEIS preparation for international students entering Singapore’s local schools. Through Playhouse Internationale, she has also collaborated with international schools, kindergartens, and childcare centres across Singapore, providing curriculum development, teacher training, educational consultancy, and personalised learning support.
Maria Sienna is also the author of three educational books: Learn with Teacher Kim: Montessori Reading 1, Learn with Teacher Kim: Montessori Reading 2, and Montessori at Home: Empowering Your Child’s Independent Learning.
Drawing on her experience as a teacher, curriculum developer, educator, and author, Maria Sienna is passionate about helping every child develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. She believes in creating a warm, engaging classroom where each child is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, and looks forward to partnering with families to make every child’s first year of primary school a positive and memorable experience.
