About Teacher

Maheswari Balakrishnan is a committed and enthusiastic educator with a Master of Education from Monash University and extensive experience in international school settings. She is passionate about inquiry-based, student-centred learning and strives to create classrooms that are safe, inclusive, and engaging, where each child’s academic, social, and emotional development is prioritised.

Maheswari has taught across Primary and Secondary levels, specialising in Mathematics, Biology, and Science, and has led curriculum development initiatives and professional development for colleagues. Most recently, she served as Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher and Head of Mathematics at Middleton International School, designing differentiated lessons, supporting diverse learners, and leading school-wide initiatives including mathematics competitions and graduation events.

Her teaching approach is guided by collaboration, flexibility, and responsiveness to individual learner needs. Maheswari also integrates wellbeing practices and holistic development into her lessons, promoting mindfulness, resilience, and interpersonal skills. She holds certifications in Jolly Phonics, safeguarding, and yoga instruction, reflecting her commitment to nurturing both the mind and body of her students.
