Welcoming Our New Families to The Perse School (Singapore)

The start of a new school year is always special and last Friday, we had the joy of welcoming our newest families at our New Parents’ Orientation.

The day began with warm introductions from Ms Lynne Oldfield (Principal), Ms Kephren Sherry (Head of Pelican and Junior School), and Mr Simon Armitage (Deputy Head (International Schools and Projects) at The Perse School Cambridge). Together, they shared insights into our school’s values, vision, and the exciting journey that lies ahead for every Perse child.

Parents then had the opportunity to meet our dedicated teachers during the “Meet the Teacher” sessions. A chance to connect, ask questions, and get to know the educators who will guide their children this year.

There were tailored sessions for each part of the school:

  • Pelican School (Early Years) parents explored how play, care, and curiosity come together to create a joyful start to learning.
  • Junior School parents discovered how we build confidence, independence, and academic foundations through a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Senior School parents heard about the exciting opportunities that await our founding Senior students—from specialist subject learning to leadership and enrichment.

Meanwhile, our students were busy jumping into team-building activities, making new friends and settling into the Perse spirit right from day one.

The day was filled with laughter, conversations, and a true sense of community. We look forward to partnering with all our parents and watching our students flourish in the year ahead.
