The Perse School (Singapore) Welcomes New Principal, Mark Preece
The Perse School (Singapore) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Preece as our new Principal.
Mark joins The Perse School (Singapore) with extensive international school leadership experience spanning the United Kingdom, Singapore, Brunei, Dubai, and Vietnam. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, student development, and building thriving school communities.
Most recently, Mark held a key leadership role at GEMS Metropole School in Dubai, where he helped guide the school’s growth from approximately 2,600 to 4,100 students while maintaining a clear focus on academic quality, staff development, community engagement, and operational excellence. He is also well-acquainted with Singapore’s international education landscape, having spent several years at Nexus International School (Singapore).
Passionate about delivering an outstanding educational experience, Mark is firmly focused on ensuring strong academic outcomes through a rigorous and engaging curriculum, thoughtful assessment practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement. He is equally dedicated to supporting teachers through high-quality professional development and creating systems that enable both students and staff to flourish.
Beyond his educational expertise, Mark is recognised for his warm, empathetic, and people-centred leadership style. He places great importance on building meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and fostering a culture where every member of the community feels known, supported, and encouraged to achieve their best. His approach combines high expectations with genuine care, openness, and a strong sense of belonging.
