A Levels

The Perse School (Singapore) to Launch A Level Programme in 2027

After the successful introduction of Senior School last year, The Perse School (Singapore) is set to launch its A Level programme in 2027 by introducing Year 12 (Grade 11) and Year 13 (Grade 12).

The launch of Sixth Form also brings to Singapore the legacy and academic excellence of The Perse School Cambridge, UK, which has a longstanding track record of outstanding A Level outcomes. At The Perse Cambridge, 43% of A Level grades were awarded at A*, while 80% achieve A* – A grades in 2025. Each year, 30 – 40 students also gain admission to Oxford and Cambridge universities, with many more progressing to leading universities across the UK, US, Australia, and Asia.

A Globally Respected Academic Pathway

A Level is widely recognised as one of the leading pre-university qualifications in the world, as well as a key pathway to top universities across the UK, US, Asia, and beyond. According to UCAS (the UK’s university admissions service), A Level remains the most common qualification used for entry into UK universities, including world-class institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge. Many leading universities worldwide also value A Level for its academic rigour and depth of study.

Depth, Focus, and Academic Mastery

One of the defining strengths of the A Level pathway is its laser focus and flexibility. A Level allows students to:

  • Select subjects aligned with their strengths and interests
  • Study a smaller number of subjects (typically three to four) in greater depth
  • Develop subject mastery and intellectual confidence

This depth of study enables students to engage more meaningfully with their chosen disciplines and prepares them well for specialised university courses and future careers.

The Perse Difference: Breath, Balance, and Educating the Whole Child

Curriculum

At The Perse School (Singapore), academic excellence is complemented by a strong emphasis on co-curricular enrichment and pastoral care.

We believe that success at this stage of education goes beyond examination results. Our students benefit from:

  • A wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that support personal development and play a significant role in university admissions by helping students demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a well-rounded profile beyond academics
  • A nurturing environment with robust pastoral care, which ensures students are supported emotionally and mentally during this important phase of their lives
  • A school culture that encourages balance, wellbeing, and a genuine love of learning

University pathway guidance from as early as Year 9

We recognise that preparing students for university and future careers is an important part of their educational journey. Our university guidance programme begins as early as Year 9 in Secondary School, giving students and families the time, support, and clarity needed to make informed decisions about their future pathways.

Students benefit from personalised guidance delivered in partnership with world-renowned university guidance counsellor Hamilton Gregg. Through a comprehensive programme of support, students are encouraged to explore their interests, strengths, and aspirations while gaining a deeper understanding of university pathways around the world.

Our support includes:

  • One-to-one counselling sessions tailored to each student’s academic profile, interests, and university goals
  • Personalised university pathway planning and application guidance
  • Webinars and workshops for both students and parents covering topics such as subject selection, university applications, admissions trends, and career exploration
  • Ongoing support to help students navigate applications to leading universities across the UK, US, Australia, Asia, and beyond

By working closely with both students and parents, we aim to provide a supportive and informed approach that empowers students to confidently take their next steps towards higher education and future success.

Designed for Families

As we reach this important milestone, we remain committed to offering an outstanding education that is also accessible. The Perse continues to be among the best international schools in Singapore to provide a sustainable and transparent fee structure, designed with families in mind, without compromising on quality.

The launch of A Level in 2027 is a proud moment for our community. As students take this next step, we look forward to supporting them by equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to thrive in the world’s leading universities and beyond.
