About Teacher
Mei Ning is an experienced and dedicated Mandarin teacher with a strong background in language, music, and drama education. Known for her caring and creative approach, she uses a range of expressive mediums to help students move beyond memorising characters and develop a genuine appreciation for Chinese language and culture.
With over two decades of teaching experience across international schools and cultural institutions in Singapore and China, Mei Ning brings depth, creativity, and cultural richness to her classroom. Most recently at Invictus International School, she taught Mandarin to upper primary students and delivered music lessons in Chinese across Grades 1 to 6, strengthening students’ language confidence through song, performance, and thematic learning.
Mei Ning has played a key role in curriculum development, establishing elementary-level Mandarin programmes, assessment frameworks, and integrated Chinese curricula that combine storytelling, cultural studies, project-based learning, and global perspectives. She is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences and has led major school events such as Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.
Her earlier work includes pioneering Chinese drama curricula for multiple kindergarten branches in Singapore and teaching music at secondary level in China, where she also directed choirs and supported gifted students in music theory and performance.
Mei Ning holds a Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature from Nanjing University, along with qualifications in Musicology and Music Education from the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. She is committed to nurturing students’ confidence, cultural understanding, and love for language through meaningful and creative learning experiences.
