Martyn O’Brien

Martyn O’Brien is a highly experienced and versatile educator with extensive international teaching experience across secondary and international schools in Asia and the UK. He has taught a wide range of subjects, including IBDP Business Management, IGCSE Business Studies and Enterprise, MYP Individuals and Societies, Economics, and English, working with students from Years 5–13.

Martyn combines classroom teaching with leadership roles, having served as Head of House and Subject Leader, coordinating co-curricular activities, student enrichment programs, and international competitions. He is committed to student-centred learning, differentiation, and holistic development, providing pastoral support, mentoring, and enrichment beyond the curriculum.

In addition to his teaching experience, Martyn has led extracurricular programs including Young Entrepreneurs, Tycoon in Schools, and sports teams, fostering teamwork, leadership, and real-world problem-solving skills. He is trained in CELTA and holds a PGCE with QTS, as well as a BA (Hons) in Management from the University of Sheffield, with international study experience at Copenhagen Business School.
