At The Perse School (Singapore), we are committed to providing a robust language programme that nurtures both linguistic and cultural fluency. Our diverse language offerings empower students with essential communication skills, fostering a global mindset that prepares them for an interconnected world.
LANGUAGE programme
Mandarin
The Mandarin curriculum is designed to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while also fostering a love for the language and an appreciation for Chinese culture. Tailored to accommodate different proficiency levels, the programme ensures that all students can progress at their own pace. It offers two key pathways: Language Acquisition, for students learning Mandarin as a new or foreign language, and Second and Native Language, for those who have grown up speaking Mandarin or are already proficient.

French
While all students at The Perse are encouraged to study Mandarin, we recognise that some children joining us from other schools may prefer to continue learning a second language they have already started. To support this, we offer French as an additional language option from Year 3 onwards.
Japanese
The Japanese curriculum builds students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while fostering a love for the language and culture. It offers two pathways: Language Acquisition for beginners, and Second/Native Language for proficient speakers, with a focus on literacy using Japanese textbooks and Kanji. The mother tongue programme is free of charge for Nursery and Reception. From Year 1 and up it is optional at a fee of $2,000 per annum (excluding GST).

Immersive ENGLISH-MANDARIN BILINGUAL Programme
Starting August 2025, The Perse School (Singapore) will start an Immersive English-Mandarin bilingual programme for Nursery to Year 2 (ages 3-6), expanding to higher year levels in the coming years, allowing students to continue their studies in the bilingual programme throughout junior school.
