About Teacher
In her recent role as Director of Learning at Quayside Isle Preparatory School, Rachel led community engagement initiatives, organised school events, and developed strategic partnerships, all of which helped create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment. She also mentored new teachers, ensuring they adapted smoothly to the school’s culture, and maintained high educational standards across the school.
As a Lead Teacher, Rachel excelled in delivering differentiated lessons for literacy and numeracy, and integrating field trips and outdoor activities to enrich her students’ learning. Her background includes work as a Forest School Educator in London, where she fostered children’s curiosity and resilience through outdoor exploration. Rachel’s teaching at E-Bridge Pre-School emphasised a Reggio-inspired, inquiry-based curriculum focused on critical thinking and developing 21st Century Competencies.
Rachel holds a Master’s in Early Years Education from University College London, with a thesis on risk-taking in educational settings. She is passionate about cultivating a love for learning by balancing play and structure, partnering with families and children to nurture curiosity, exploration, and adventure. She draws on best practices to meet each child’s unique needs, creating an environment where children can thrive in both structured and playful learning experiences. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Rachel is well-positioned to connect with Singapore’s diverse school community, supporting The Perse School’s holistic and inclusive educational mission.
