About Teacher

Mikayla has a background in early years and primary education from her role at Ironside State School, Queensland. She brings a proven track record of fostering inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills while differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of her students, including those with English as an Additional Language. 

Mikayla’s approach to teaching aligns with The Perse School’s emphasis on creativity, curiosity, and independent thinking. With a strong commitment to creating a supportive and positive classroom culture, Mikayla excels in building a learning environment where students feel safe and encouraged to succeed. She integrates technology into her lessons to enhance learning outcomes and has been actively involved in organising extracurricular activities, from community engagement events to sports programmes. Mikayla grew up playing netball, touch football, competing in gymnastics competitions and is excited to learn new sports in Singapore. Her passions outside of school include exercising, socialising and baking sweet treats!

Mikayla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education from the University of Queensland and is certified by the Queensland College of Teachers. Her enthusiasm for international teaching, combined with her dedication to professional growth, makes her a valuable addition to our school community.
